Thanks for your comment. The article wasn’t really discussing the definition of scientific it was simply making two points: firstly that some doctors sadly still believe medical schools and associated medical journals are the sole custodians of all credible science based medical information. And secondly that many critics of natural medicine, don’t seem to realize that many if not most natural medicine practitioners these days have science degrees. Your article seems to perhaps miss the point of what is meant by ‘scientific’. I was expecting you to cite research by credible bodies in the mainstay of your article, but this seems to be tagged on at the end, as a postamble. Can you provide sources for these studies from Harvard and Foresight?

What a great article and website! I would love to republish this article on my own site which provides information about natural pregnancy and birth in the Spokane, WA area. Many of the topics I write about and research for Bloom consider the differing views held by traditional medicine and natural birth practitioners. I am thankful for all that modern medicine can do to save lives, but I think that more people should pursue natural methods of treatment for certain conditions before turning to a doctor. Of course, that requires that we, as patients, are educated about our options and take charge of our own health…something I think more and more people are becoming interested in. Thanks for making such great information available online!

Food for thought! I am an advocate of the natural therapies absolutely. Have been for years even before we had fertility issues. Like you eloquently put it ” can not separate one part of the body from the rest, as the same food, blood and nervous system permeate each and every tissue in the body” We need to take responsibility for our own health internal and external, giving the power to orthodox medicine only, gives you very little if any preventative health. Our body systems are all connected so you really do not give yourself full health unless you address your diet, and environment. Like you I too am passionate about giving people more tools and information so they can become empowered in their quest to have a healthy baby. Great article
