Trouble Getting Pregnant? Read This Before You Call a Fertility Clinic

Are you having trouble getting pregnant? Are you considering IVF?

If you are considering IVF due to trouble getting pregnant, then you should read what an IVF expert had to say before you call a fertility clinic. A well known reproductive endocrinologist and New York’s IVF pioneer Dr. Sami David, recently spoke up about IVF. Here’s what he had to say:

“Even if all infertility doctors were good ones, the industry itself is woefully underregulated. Indeed, the way infertility treatment is carried out today is problematic in many ways”.

Sadly today millions of couples are being misled by fertility clinics. They are placing blind trust in under-regulated drugs and techniques without being told all the facts. Believing technology is their only option they make rushed decisions because they feel vulnerable and because it’s such an emotional issue.

The reality is, if you’re having trouble getting pregnant, you wont be given all your options by fertility doctors. Most so-called fertility clinics are really IVF clinics. According to Dr. David fertility clinics are masters of marketing and these fertility factories adopt a one-size-fits-all treatment approach. Before you even arrive for your first visit the doctor has pre-determined the IVF (or another ART) route for you because that is all they offer.

The truth is fertility clinics fail to offer you safer options that are equally or more effective because the money is in IVF. Women are run through these clinics, Dr. David’s words:  “like cattle”, not informed of all the risks and not made aware of their alternatives. Women are being pumped with dangerous synthetic hormones. Many doctors, driven by patient pressure for a quick fix are overmedicating women. If some of these doctors took the time to investigate the causes and explore all options available many of these women wouldn’t need the drugs that often damage their health and worsen their trouble getting pregnant.

Dr David summed it up when he said “Money has corrupted health care across the board, and nowhere is that plainer than in fertility medicine.” as David went on to say “Modern fertility medicine harms more than it helps.”

Five reasons you should avoid fertility drugs and procedures as a first resort

  1. Caution: fertility drugs are under-regulated and are not subject to the same testing as other pharmaceuticals. Clinics are free to prescribe you dangerously high doses of drugs.
  2. Injectable fertility drugs can predispose women to chromosomal irregularities and have been linked to increased risk of uterine cancer, ovarian cancer and fetal abnormalities.
  3. Studies report higher rates of long-term medical problems for children conceived via artificial means.
  4. IVF children had significantly more hospital visits on average than children conceived naturally (a 2007 study).
  5. IVF children may experience higher rates of infection, respiratory, inflammatory and neurological disorders – Dr. Marjo Riita-Jarvelin (professor, Imperial College London).

As you can see, I can’t stress to you enough the importance of viewing fertility clinics with caution and ART (assisted reproductive technology) as a last resort to those of you who are having trouble getting pregnant. I know these treatments have a vital role to play in severe cases and I’m not trying to scare you but I do want you to be informed of the real risks. These techniques are widely overused. Infertility should not automatically mean IVF. Natural approach is a safe, non-invasive, affordable and highly effective alternative. The risks of IVF may be worth it if you have no other way to fall pregnant but are unnecessary if you can get pregnant in a more healthy and natural way.

What are your thoughts? Are you having trouble getting pregnant? Would you consider IVF? Or would you opt for natural options first?
